Abhimantrana

The Abhimantrana exhibition is a special offering from the Yogyakarta Palace that highlights the rich values and philosophies of various traditional palace ceremonies. Held since March 2024, the exhibition presents various visualizations of sacred rituals such as siraman, mitoni, and Peksi Burak-a symbolic procession that represents the journey of the Prophet Muhammad's Isra Mikraj through artworks of natural elements such as leaves and fruits.

Visitors will be presented with a comprehensive experience through interactive installations, royal regalia, replicas of the palace fortress, and audio-visual spaces that invite us to understand the Javanese philosophy of sangkan paraning dumadi. The exhibition is also complemented by educational programs, such as curatorial tours, segahan workshops, and traditional clothing workshops that explore the aesthetic value and meaning behind tradition.

Abhimantrana is not only a space for cultural appreciation, but also an educational tool that introduces the rich traditions of the Yogyakarta Palace in a contextual and relevant manner for today's generation. Suitable for cultural tourists, students, and the general public who want to learn more about Javanese traditions in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.
